The kiwi’s characteristics
The Kiwi fruit is native to China and the province of Shaanxi in particular. The plant belongs to the Actinidiaceae family.
The kiwi fruit has a green or yellow pulp, a sweet and slightly acid taste and a brown, downy skin. It is a source of vitamins C, A and E, calcium, iron and folic acid.
Varieties
There are several varieties of kiwi fruit including:
- Hayward, Zender and Bruno (green flesh) and Kiwi Gold (yellow flesh).
