Ginger is a species of flowering plant in the zingiberaceae family, native to Asia. Its root, the rhizome, is used in both cooking and traditional medicine.
Root ginger has many digestive, energetic and anti-inflammatory properties.
Varieties
There are two varieties of ginger: white ginger (also known as yellow ginger) and blue ginger, also known as flint ginger.
